Sandburg Softball to Host Black Hawk in Region IV Quarters

After winning its first-ever Arrowhead Conference title, the Carl Sandburg College softball team earned the No. 3 seed in the Region IV Division II District B tournament and will open postseason play by hosting sixth-seeded Black Hawk at 1 p.m. Wednesday in a quarterfinal series.
The entire best-of-three series will take place Wednesday afternoon at the Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex. The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be hosted by Highland on Saturday and Sunday in Freeport.
The Chargers (29-23) won all four matchups with the Braves during the regular season by a combined score of 42-9, including a sweep Saturday at home to clinch the conference championship.
